Nutrition is the science that interprets the interaction of nutrients and other substances in food in relation to maintenance, growth, reproduction, health and disease of an organism. It includes food intake, absorption, assimilation, biosynthesis, catabolism and excretion. Nutrition is an art form in that there is no one answer that fits everyone. We all need to find out what out own body needs and then adjust accordingly. Our body is consistently giving us signs and based on these signs we need to adjust out diet. In regards to traditional medicines which did not have modern science to teach them about nutrition, their focus instead was on developing and maintaining a strong digestive function so food absorption could take place and toxins may be effectively cleaned out the body through defecation and urination.
